London, October 17, 2023 — SentryBay, the UK-based cybersecurity software company has today announced that it has been recognized as a Sample Vendor in the Gartner® Hype Cycle ™ for XaaS, 2023* under the Endpoint Access Isolation category.
With many businesses moving toward Everything as a Service (XaaS), the Gartner Hype Cycle identifies innovative technologies which should be seriously considered. Gartner write: “Endpoint Access Isolation (formerly VDI/DaaS endpoint security) facilitates secure access to applications, VDI/DaaS environments, and data using local apps that isolate the session data from the device”.
SentryBay’s Endpoint Access Isolation solution, the Armored Client, is deployed as an agent and includes advanced keylogging and screen-capture prevention which proactively protects data entry into the VDI/DaaS application. The solution utilizes minimal resources and does not influence performance on the endpoint device, while adding meaningful security. The enterprise can control which processes are able to execute within the secure environment, enabling protection of VDI/DaaS solutions like VMware and AVD/w365, especially for remote workers using BYOD/BYOPC.
There has been strong investment in enterprise browser solutions. SentryBay’s Armored Client is also able to incorporate the company’s Secure Browser offering allowing consistent browser configuration and control for any user accessing productivity apps and company data – even from an unmanaged PC.
Dave Waterson, CTO, SentryBay said: “It is testament to the continued importance of cloud services that XaaS is now regarded by Gartner as having its own Hype Cycle. The need for improved security for remote and hybrid workers continues to be a pressing issue for all enterprises, and we are delighted to have been recognised as a Sample Vendor in this space.”
“It’s interesting to see that Gartner has renamed the category that includes SentryBay as Endpoint Access Isolation, further validating the need to isolate data with modern, proactive security rather than the use of traditional endpoint malware detection methods,” commented Marcus Whittington, COO, SentryBay.

SentryBay is a pioneer in technology that approaches security issues from a different – and more proactive – perspective. Endpoint data protection is essential to provide a secure, cloud-based IT ecosystem that avoids the weaknesses inherent in both technology and users. SentryBay’s confined environment within which applications can run – underpinned by multi-layered anti-keylogging technology – allows these weaknesses to be overcome. The company’s product is used by some of the world’s largest enterprises – from global FIs to small, medium and large enterprises across all verticals.
